In SCISSORING, Abigail Bauer, a New Orleans native and resident, must confront the clash between the life she has created with her long term girlfriend and her career as a devoted teacher in a repressive Catholic school. Through her struggle, Abigail receives pressure from the school's shape-shifting, personified P.A. System and guidance from the figures of First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt and Roosevelt's devoted lifelong friend and once lover, Lorena Hickok. (Recently chosen as a Finalist in the 2014 Alliance/Kendeda National Graduate Playwriting Competition)

La Divina Caricatura

I just found out today that I have a friend working on Mabou Mines’ “La Divina Caricatura.” In fact, as I looked at the website, I see that I know two other people who are working on the project as well. Small world…

Another show I will have to put on my list to go and see. I really am trying to get better about going to see everyone’s work, but this month conspired against me, and I was unable to see St. Ann’s Labapalooza! I had a friend in a UCB show, and another friend that was doing a show in the East Village that I didn’t see… Trying to get better… You know, I’ve never taken the time to see the NY Fringe…

Bad theatre guy… Bad…

Puppet Playlist

I have been a fan of Puppet Playlist for some time here in NYC. It is a great mix of music, puppets, and creative people that have a great sense of humor. What I enjoy most about it is that you will only find something like this in New York.

Silence! The Musical

Made it over to “SILENCE! The Musical” and had a great time. The show was hilarious and I do love a good sheep tap dance number. What struck me most was that as I watched the cast perform, I felt like I had seen all over them in other shows. Then it turns out that the show stared David Garrison (From “Married… with Children” and “It’s Your Move” fame) as Hannibal Lecter. Fun to see people in person that I never thought I would see in person, and then when I get home, I wiki their names and find out more about them then I imagined.

I also enjoyed the fact that the majority of the set was made out of Ikea furniture. I am sure that kept the costs low, and made it easy to repair.

Sometimes it is good to see something that just entertains the hell out of you.
